Swale Borough Council currently has 11 Labour Councillors, all from the Sittingbourne and Sheppey part of the Borough.
The Labour Group make up the main Opposition to the ruling Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats are the third party and the Independent Group are the smallest party.
Labour's main criticism of the ruling administration is that the Tory Executive has lacked clear policy objectives for the Borough, that it has mismanaged the Council's finances, that it is too slow in following through key strategic policies, and that it is poor at communicating with the public.
Angela Harrison(Sheerness West) leads the Group and Mike Haywood (Roman) is Deputy and Chair of Policy Overview. Roger Truelove(Chalkwell) leads on regeneration. Mick Constable (Queenborough and Halfway) leads on planning. Mark Ellen (Sheerness East) leads on the environment. Adam Tolhurst (Milton Regis) is Chair of the Council's Scrutiny Panel.
